Gardens at the Roswell Adult Rec Center

Entrance Gardens

In 2002 with funding from a $250 Shell Oil Petals grant and $500 from the Club, the Roswell Garden Club landscaped the main entrance of the Roswell Adult Recreation Center. Members donated and purchased flowers, trees, shrubbery, trellises, benches, mulch, bird feeders, bird houses and soil amendment for the garden's creation. A marble plaque set in the garden reads: "A Garden to Enjoy – Roswell Garden Club 2003".

In 2003,Members assisted the Director by hosting a potting and planting activity for the mentally and physically challenged North Fulton County "young adults" group. The club has also donated books on gardening, distributed calendars, and celebrated National Garden week every year.

Members continue to maintain the entrance gardens at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center. Our chairman schedules pruning, planting and clean-up days and monitors the gardens throughout the year.

"Waist High" Gardens

In August 2007, the Roswell Garden Club built "waist high" gardens at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center. Theses gardens were then planted with seasonal vegetables and plants by the Center's "Young Adults", with the assistance of Club Members.

Members continue to maintain the "Waist High" gardens, keeping them filled with herbs, vegetables and annuals.
