The Roswell Garden Club has partnered with the City of Roswell to provide funding for the installation of new trees at the Roswell Adult Aquatic Center on Grimes Bridge Road as part of the city’s Tree Planting Partnership Program.
The program was designed to provide financial support to organizations who want to enhance and beautify Roswell by increasing its tree canopy and density. The program is open to church groups, scout troops, civic organizations, schools and businesses who are interested in partnering with the city to provide funding and support for tree planting, right-of-way beautification projects, storm damage assistance projects and landscaping on public properties.
The landscaping project for the new Roswell Adult Aquatic Center was chosen due to the close relationship the RGC has had with that facility over the years. The garden club maintains a community garden there, established and maintains handicapped-accessible waist-high gardens there, decorates the main facility for the holidays and holds many events in the facility’s community meeting rooms. The club recommended the planting of River Birch trees which were listed on the hardwood tree species list suggested by the Tree Planting Partnership Program from the City.
